Menopause
Bioidentical hormones are made in the laboratory from natural plant sources and have the same molecular structure as the hormones made by your own body. Animal or synthetic artificial hormones (like PremarinR which is pregnant mares urine or ProveraR which is artificial progesterone) are totally different hormones foreign to the human body. Current research suggests that prescribing bioidentical hormones makes much more sense for most menopausal women. We use compounded bioidentical hormones that are individually dosed base on each woman’s unique needs. At our office we practice true hormone replacement therapy, not hormone substitution therapy as is practiced in most offices. Bioidentical natural hormone replacement therapy in combination with routine exercise and diet are often able to slow down and partially reverse the aging process.
